Australian Auction Sales SteadySYDNEY - Jan 14/05 - SNS -- A good volume of livestock moved through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd during the past week. Throughput for the week totalled 19,835 sheep and lambs. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 1,992. "Demand for mutton sheep remained static this week, with buyers still citing fat, poor domestic demand and poor margins in exported product as the major reasons," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Tasmania currently is having a good run with their sheep however, even though they seem to have the numbers at present they won't last much longer, particularly when they load a boat out in a couple of weeks."
