USDA Names Mushroom Board MemberWASHINGTON - Jan 13/05 - SNS -- The USDA appointed one member and reappointed two others to serve on the Mushroom Council. Reappointed to the council are James A. Angelucci of Kennett Square, Pa., representing the Council's Region 2, and Curtis Jurgensmeyer of Miami, Okla., representing Region 4. Appointed as a new member of the council is Charlee Kelly of Prunedale, Calif., representing Region 3. Their terms began Jan. 1 and end Dec. 31, 2007. Authorized under the Mushroom Promotion, Research, and Consumer Information Act of 1990, the council administers a national research and consumer information program to maintain and expand markets for fresh mushrooms. The council is composed of fresh market producers or importers who produce or import an average of more than 500,000 pounds of mushrooms annually.
