USDA Names Popcorn Board Members
WASHINGTON - Jan 13/05 - SNS -- The USDA appointed one member and reappointed two others to serve on the Popcorn Board.
Reappointed to the board is Ann Kelly Ellis of Murray, Ky., and William D. Kennebeck of Trenton, Mo. Appointed as a new board member is William Brush of North Loop, Neb. Their terms began Jan. 1 and end Dec. 31, 2007.
The board, authorized by the Popcorn Promotion, Research and Consumer Information Act of 1996, conducts promotion, research and consumer information activities to maintain and expand popcorn consumption.
The nine-member board is composed of eligible popcorn processors who process and distribute more than 4 million pounds of popcorn annually.
