U.S. Field Pea Estimate Lifted 5%WASHINGTON - Jan 12/05 - SNS -- Production of dry edible peas in Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, and Washington is estimated at 11.4 million cwt or 517,101 metric tons (MT) for 2004, up 5% from the November 1 forecast and 120% above 2003, according to the USDA's 2004 annual crop production summary. Area harvested, at 507,800 acres, is 1% above the previous forecast and 55% above last year.
