U.S. Lentil Harvest Final at 189,604 MTWASHINGTON - Jan 12/05 - SNS -- Production of lentils in Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, and Washington is estimated at 4.18 million cwt or 189,604 metric tons (MT) for 2004, up 2% from the November 1 forecast and 71% above 2003, according to the USDA's 2004 annual crop production summary. Planted area, at 345,000 acres, remains unchanged from the previous forecast but is 40% above the previous season. Harvested area, at 329,000 acres, is 2% above the November 1 forecast and 39% above last year.
