USDA Reduces Austrian Winter Pea EstimateWASHINGTON - Jan 12/05 - SNS -- Production of Austrian winter peas in Idaho, Montana, and Oregon for the 2004 season is estimated at 264,000 cwt or 11,975 metric tons (MT), down 3% from the November 1 forecast but 52% above 2003, according to the USDA's 2004 annual crop production summary. Area harvested, at 21,500 acres, is unchanged from the previous forecast but 38% above last season.
