Calavo Growers Posts Lower Profit
NEW YORK - Dec 5/04 - SNS -- Fourth quarter profits declined from last year, according to the latest quarterly report from Calavo Growers, Inc., even though sales were up a solid 3%.
During the quarter ending October 31, the company reported net earnings of U.S. $1.1 million on sales of $65.4 million, compared to a net of $1.7 million on sales of $63.8 million during the same quarter last year.
The results lifted net earnings for the fiscal year to $6.21 million on sales of $274.2 million, compared to net earnings of $7.16 million on sales of $246.8 million during the previous fiscal year.
