Weekly U.S. Rail Loadings Advance
WASHINGTON - Dec 29/04 - SNS -- The number of carloads of grains and oilseeds delivered to U.S. ports for the week ending December 22 was up from the previous week, for a second week of increased activity, according to the USDA's Transportation and Marketing Programs/Transportation Services Branch weekly Grain Transportation Report.
Total carloads delivered to major port areas during the week totalled 10,223, up from 5,936 the previous week. This lifted crop year to date deliveries to 385,010 cars, up 20% from the 320,959 cars unloaded during the same period last season.
