USDA Designates More Ag Disaster CountiesWASHINGTON Dec 21/04 - SNS -- The USDA designated additional counties in Texas and Virginia as primary agricultural disaster areas. Swisher County in Texas was designated as a primary natural disaster area due to hail, winds and a tornado that occurred on June 21, 2004, through June 25, 2004. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Armstrong, Briscoe, Castro, Floyd, Hale and Randall Counties. Northampton County in Virginia was designated as a primary natural disaster area due to excessive rain that occurred from July 15, 2004, and continuing. Also eligible because it is contiguous is Accomack County.
