Agricore United's Grain Share DeclinesWINNIPEG - Dec 9/04 - SNS -- Agricore United's share of the western Canadian grain handle decreased during the fiscal year ending October 31, dropping from 36% in 2003-04 to 34.7% in 2003-04, according to the company's fourth quarter earnings statement. During the 12 months ending October 31, the volume of the six major grains and oilseeds handled by the Canadian grain industry rose 40% from 20.3 million to 28.9 million metric tons (MT). Industry shipments in 2004 represented about 90% of the industry shipments in the same period ended October 31, 2001 (prior to the effects of either the 2001 or 2002 droughts).
