Pioneer Introduces New Soybean VarietiesDES MOINES - Dec 2/04 - SNS -- Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., is introducing 19 new Pioneer brand soybean varieties, including ones with resistance to soybean cyst nematode (SCN) and Phytophthora root rot as well as tolerance to sudden death syndrome (SDS), iron chlorosis, brown stem rot (BSR) and white mold. "The key to these new generation soybeans are the Pioneer genetics that deliver exceptional yields," says Marv Wilson, soybean marketing director for Pioneer. "Our 'M-series' varieties offer an unprecedented yield advantage over the competition with defensive trait packages that producers require." All but one of the new varieties for 2005 contain the Roundup Ready1 gene. The new varieties range in maturity from Group 000 for Manitoba to Group VI for southern U.S.growers.
