SD Counties Declared Disaster AreasWASHINGTON - Nov 30/04 - SNS -- The USDA declared several counties in South Dakota and Texas as primary agricultural disaster areas. On Nov. 23, 2004, Charles Mix County in South Dakota was designated as a primary disaster area due to frost, heat, winds, hail, storms, drought and insect infestation that occurred from Jan. 1, 2004, and continuing. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Bon Homme, Douglas and Hutchinson Counties. On Nov. 23, 2004, Hall County in Texas was designated as a primary disaster area due to rain, hail and winds that occurred on Aug. 12, 2004. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Briscoe, Childress, Collingsworth, Cottle, Donley and Motley. On Nov. 23, 2004, Tarrant County in Texas was designated as a primary disaster area due to rain, flooding, winds and lightning that occurred from June 1, 2004, through June 9, 2004.
