Hatchery Chicks Up, Turkey Down in CanadaOTTAWA - Nov 26/04 - SNS -- Placements of hatchery chicks onto Canadian farms increased in October, but placements of turkey chicks was down, according to the latest data available from Statistics Canada. Hatchery chick placements were estimated at 58.3 million birds in October, up 4.0% from October 2003. Placements of turkey poults on farms decreased 11.4% to 1.1 million birds.
