Chinese Farm Incomes Average $317BEIJING - Nov 25/04 - SNS -- Average farm incomes in China rose 11.4% during the first nine months of 2004 to 2622.2 yuan or U.S. $316.62. Though this is faster growth than in China's urban centers, farm incomes are about 10-years behind urban incomes, with the result consumption levels in China's urban areas is considered to be 15 years behind that of urban centers. This low level of spending is seen as hindering economic development in China, making it important for the country to take steps to help its farmers boost crop incomes.
