Poultry Supplies Up 9% From Last year
WASHINGTON - Nov 19/04 - SNS -- Total frozen poultry supplies on October 31, 2004 were 1% below the previous month, but 9% above a year ago at 1,291 million pounds, according to the latest USDA report on agricultural commodities held in cold storage in the United States.
Total stocks of chicken were up 3% from the previous month and up 33% from last year at 800 million pounds. Total pounds of turkey in freezers were down 7% from last month at 490 million pounds and down 16% from October 31, 2003.
