Indian Pulse Import Potential DiminishingVANCOUVER - Nov 18/04 - SNS -- Expectations about India's pulse import potential are diminishing with initial reports of better than usual progress seeding this year's rabi season crops and good rains in the post monsoon period. Seeding of the rabi season crops, which will be harvested in February and March, is getting underway. Initial reports point to a small increase in pulse seedings, with an estimated 2.68 million hectares in the ground by the middle of November. Gram area was believed to be down 100,000 hectares at 1.9 million; while plantings of other types of pulses was up 100,000 hectares at 780,000.
