Specialty Harvest Almost DoneREGINA - Nov 9/04 - SNS -- This year's specialty crop harvest is almost done in western Canada, with more progress reported in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Roughly 10% of Saskatchewan's canaryseed and chickpea crops and Manitoba's dry edible beans remain to be harvested. However, quality is an issue for the two pulses, with Manitoba Agriculture expecting half the bean crop to have little commercial value; while an uncertain proportion of Saskatchewan's chickpea crop will only be suitable for livestock feed.
