Ukraine Imports 40,000 MT palm OilKIEV - Nov 9/04 - APK -- State Joint Stock Company Khlib Ukrainy has exported near 100,000 metric tons (MT) of new crop grain since the beginning of new MY, as Victor Bondarenko, Head of the Board of SJSC, informed. He also said that it was mainly barley exported. The company also exports feed wheat and has plans to start maize exports. According to Bondarenko, Ukraine has harvested a very good maize crop this year, and the company has begun signing export contracts for maize. In total the company is planning to export from 600,000 to 700,000 MT of maize in 2004-05. SJSC Khlib Ukrainy is specialized in grain storage and processing. It holds 72 grain procurement enterprises with total storage and processing capacity of 7 million MT and 4 million MT correspondingly. The company owns two port elevators - Odessa and Nikolaev. In 2001-02 grain exports from Ukraine totalled 9.07 million MT, in 2002-03 it increased to 10.75 million MT. Last season only 2.79 million MT of grain was exported.
