India Raises MSPNEW DELHI - Nov 4/04 - SNS -- The Indian government approved a modest increase in minimum support prices (MSP) for rabi season pulses and other crops. The increase for gram and masur (lentil) are roughly U.S. $5 per metric ton (MT) over last year or 250 rupees MT. The increases in MSP levels for pulses is slightly larger than that for wheat and barley, but falls short of the $22 MT increases approved for rapeseed, mustard seed and the $11 MT increase in the safflower MSP.
