Algeria Selling Government Sugar PlantLONDON - Nov 1/04 - SNS -- The Algerian government-owned Enasucre will be sold to Blanky International Trading, according to the Algerian news media. The deal is expected to be worth AD4.5 billion and includes three sugar processing plants with a combined annual capacity of 200,000 metric tons (MT), port storage facilities and a packaging plant. With the purchase, Blanky International becomes Algeria's second largest sugar producer. Cevital is the largest with 550,000 MT of processing capacity.
