Are Australian Pulse Estimates Fake?VANCOUVER - Oct 29/04 - SNS -- Pulse production levels in Australia are significantly lower than initially expected on account of "unseasonal hot and dry conditions and a few frosts" says Pulse Australia in its latest market update and 2004 crop production forecast. Based on reports from Australian pulse traders, the association production estimates are dramatically lower than the Australian Bureau of Agriculture and Resource Economics (ABARE) September production estimates. Unfortunately, head to head comparisons between the two sets of numbers is not possible because Pulse Australia does not estimate total production for all crops.
