Canadian Poultry Placements Rise in SeptemberOTTAWA - Oct 28/04 - SNS -- Poultry placements managed a solid increase in September, as strong gains in hatchery chick numbers offset decreased turkey numbers, according to the latest data available from Statistics Canada. The federal agency said placements of hatchery chicks onto farms were estimated at 56.1 million birds in September, up 6.0% from September 2003.
