South African Pulse Numbers Dip
PRETORIA - Oct 20/04 - SNS -- The potential size of the 2004-05 pulse harvest in South Africa are down, following release of the latest winter crop estimates by the South African Grain Information Service (SAGIS).
The agency reduced its sweet lupin production forecast 1,400 MT or 21.9%, to 5,000 metric tons (MT). The area estimate for sweet lupins remained unchanged at 7,100 ha, with an expected yield of 0.70 MT per hectare.
