Canadian Harvest Woes Support Chickpeas
VANCOUVER - Oct 15/04 - SNS -- North American chickpea markets continue to pay close attention to the problems with the Canadian harvest.
The week started with just 36% of the crop in the bin and only 11% swathed - leaving 53% of the seeded area still standing. A portion of those fields will not be harvested as seed, instead converted to green manure or silage.
