Chiquita Names Viviani VP

NEW YORK - Oct 5/04 - SNS -- Chiquita Brands International, Inc. named Tanios Viviani as vice president, Fresh Cut Fruit. Viviani will be responsible for leading Chiquita Fresh Cut Fruit, which began serving customers in the Midwestern United States in the fourth quarter 2003.

The current Chiquita Fresh Cut Fruit product line consists of various combinations of watermelon, pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries and grapes in consumer-friendly packaging in a variety of sizes, from single servings to party trays. Chiquita Fresh Cut Fruit serves leading retail customers in a 10-state region within a 500-mile radius of the company's first processing plant near Chicago.

Prior to joining Chiquita, Viviani served for 15 years at the Procter and Gamble Co. in key domestic and international roles. Most recently, he was global director of new business development for P&G's fabric care division.
