Smaller World Chickpea Crop ForecastWINNIPEG - Sep 15/04 - SNS -- International chickpea production during the 2004-05 marketing year could end up at least 9% lower than last season, ending up around 7.9 million metric tons (MT), according Agriculture Canada's market analysis branch here. In his review of the commodity, Stan Skrypetz, Pulse and Special Crops Analyst, said residual supplies from the 2003-04 marketing year are an estimated 400,000 MT in all countries, for a world supply of 8.3 million MT of chickpeas in 2004-05, down 5% from the start of the 2003-04 marketing season.
