USDA Buys 4,000 MT PulsesKANSAS CITY - Sep 14/04 - SNS -- The USDA';s Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 4,000 metric tons (MT) of peas and pinto beans for shipment as food aid in October. USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 094I included a request for 2,700 MT of whole or split yellow peas. Not surprisingly, whole peas dominated that portion of the tender, with the government buying 2,170 MT of wholes and 530 MT of split yellow peas.
