Bean Harvest Underway in Western StatesWASHINGTON - Sep 13/04 - SNS -- Harvest activity is being reported in states west of North Dakota, with good progress reported in Idaho and Washington for both dry edible beans and chickpeas. Unfortunately, crops continue to be stressed in many states and the condition of dry edible beans continued to decline. In reporting states, conditions are rated best in Washington, Nebraska and Michigan; and poorest in Minnesota, where 10% of the crop is rated very poor, 22% poor, 46% fair and 20% good.
