Philippine Poultry Ban Curtailed
MANILA - Sep 13/04 - SNS -- The Philippines lifted its ban on imports of poultry and poultry products from four U.S. states, Japan and Taiwan.
In announcing the decision, government officials said data submitted to the Office International des Epizooties shows the bird flu virus has been eradicated in Japan, Taiwan, and in the U.S. states of Texas, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Imports from Malaysia continue to be banned because of last month's re-emergence of the disease in that country.
