Food Manufacturers Use More EggsWASHINGTON - Sep 8/04 - SNS -- The quantity of eggs used by food manufacturers in the United States managed a slight increase in July, according to the latest USDA report on the sector. Shell eggs broken totaled 164 million dozen during July 2004, up slightly from July a year ago. During calendar year 2004, shell eggs broken totaled 1.10 billion dozen, up 5% from the 1.05 billion dozen broken in 2003.
