Food Manufacturers Use More Eggs
WASHINGTON - Sep 8/04 - SNS -- The quantity of eggs used by food manufacturers in the United States managed a slight increase in July, according to the latest USDA report on the sector.
Shell eggs broken totaled 164 million dozen during July 2004, up slightly from July a year ago.
During calendar year 2004, shell eggs broken totaled 1.10 billion dozen, up 5% from the 1.05 billion dozen broken in 2003. Total edible liquid from eggs broken in 2004 was 1.42 billion pounds, up 6% from 2003.
