Brazil Expects Record Poultry OutputBRASILIA - Sep 6/04 - SNS -- Brazilian broiler production could rise 6% in 2005 to a record 8,620,000 metric tons (MT) on account of improved domestic consumption and continued growth in export sales. This is the second year in a row the country has set a new production record. Reviewing the poultry situation in Brazil, the U.S. agricultural attache here said turkey production is also expected to rise, jumping a projected 14% from 220,000 to 250,000 MT due to booming exports. "The Brazilian poultry industry is having one of their best years in terms of production, exports, and profit margins," the agricultural attache said.
