General Mills Closing Mill
NEW YORK - Sep 1/04 - SNS -- General Mills is discussing the planned closure of its Vallejo, California, plant in October with the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union, Local ##035;71G.
The plant employs 42 people and produces bakery and ingredient flour. The company confirmed that the union has been contacted and a final decision is expected in the coming weeks. General Mills acquired the plant in 1929. The company anticipates the land and the facilities will be sold.
