Frost Lifts Lentil MarketVANCOUVER - Aug 23/04 - SNS -- Frost and rainfall over the weekend had a powerful impact on this week's opening markets, with some processors and exporters lifting both export asking prices and grower bids for No 2 or better lentils. Not surprisingly, markets for offgrade lentils were not affected. This simply reflects the fact frost affects both quality and yield; while heavy rain can lower the quality of nearly or fully mature seed.
