ABB Opens 2004-05 Pool Sales
SYDNEY - Aug 19/04 - SNS -- Australia's barley marketing board, ABB Grain Ltd (ABB), is now accepting grower sales into its No.1 Pool for the 2004-05 season.
"ABB introduced the No.1 Pool as a sign of our commitment to Victorian growers after the deregulation of the Victorian market," ABB's Victorian State Manager Michael Wood said.
"By contracting early with ABB growers are able to secure their place in our No.1 Pool, giving them the greatest chance of capturing benefits from any improvements in market conditions over the life of the pool.
"Because pools are marketed over an 18 month period, they are a great cash flow management tool for growers. This is in contrast to cash sales, which provide a price at any one moment in time and immediate cash flow based on that one price."
