U.S. Peach Harvest Prospects SlipWASHINGTON - Aug 12/04 - SNS -- The U.S. peach production forecast is 2.60 billion pounds, 1% below the July forecast but 3% above 2003, according to the USDA's latest crop estimates. The U.S. Freestone crop is forecast at 1.45 billion pounds, down 1% from the July forecast but virtually unchanged from 2003. The California Freestone crop is 780 million pounds, down 6% from last year and 2% below 2002.
