USDA Buys 6,030 MT Pulses
KANSAS CITY - Aug 4/04 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 6,030 metric tons (MT) of field peas and dry edible beans for shipment as food aid to various countries in September.
Invitation 084 is the opening tender of the 2004-05 marketing year and prices paid clearly show the transition from old to new crop and, in the case of field peas, the impact of forecast record production levels in both the United States and Canada.
