UK Egg Trade Deficit WidensLONDON - Aug 2/04 - SNS -- The United Kingdom's egg trade balance sheet revealed the country continues to import vastly more eggs than it exports, with imports during the first four months of the calendar year up 7.7% while exports were down 42.2%. Egg imports declined in April, falling below both year earlier and month earlier levels. But, this was not enough to offset significant year over year increases in import activity recorded in January and March. By contrast, exports have been uniformly below year earlier levels so far this calendar year, with shipments in February and April roughly half year earlier totals.
