Australian Project Studies Compost's BenefitsVANCOUVER - Mar 12/01 - STAT -- A unique Australian project is studying compost in an attempt to boost horticulture production. The use of compost to boost horticulture production is being examined by a unique project that spans the Nullarbor. Agriculture Western Australia has joined with its Victorian counterpart to undertake the $2.5 million project over the next three years. The project is designed to increase the competitiveness of the nation's vegetable industries through the use of compost made from organic residues, mainly green waste, referred to as a resource, and animal manure.
